"Together we can make a difference."
In 2001, SCCADA was awarded the Drug Free Communities
Support Program Grant sponsored by the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and the Office of Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Realizing that in today’s complex community
environment no one single agency can begin to combat the problems and issues associated with substance abuse, SCCADA joined
alliances with other community members. The Community Partners Coalition is a regional collaborative of community agencies,
law enforcement, media, health care agencies, social service agencies, parents,
and youth. The primary focus of the Community Partners Coalition is to engage
the communities and agencies in a partnership to address the problems of substance abuse by youth. This project is completing
its fifth year of funding now offered through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
